Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
The International Trade Certification Program requires that all members maintain the highest levels of professional engagement and development in their industry. Therefore, keeping your certification in good standing will require an annual report to the International Trade Certification office that demonstrates you have completed 10 continuing education requirements for that calendar year. This requirement is in effect every 12 months for the life of the certification to remain in good standing.
You must complete 10 units (CEUs) annually towards each certification you maintain, or it will expire and become invalid.
General Guidelines for Continuing Education/CEUs Awarded
Note: All CEUs are based on contact hours for global trade relevant training.
Specific Examples:
- A 1-hour webinar = 1 CEU
- A 3-hour webinar for trade compliance = 3 CEUs
- A 3 hour in-person training event = 3 CEUs
- Attend full day in-person training for 8 hours excluding lunch/breaks = 6 CEUs
Where to Start for CEU Providers
The following providers of online webinars or in-person training seminars are routinely submitted for CEUs, and are a great place to start looking for professional development opportunities that will extend your certified status. Please contact the ITC via email if you are unsure as to whether or not an event will qualify for CEUs. Note: Not all CEUs are equivalent.
