International Trade Certification

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

The International Trade Certification Program requires that all members maintain the highest levels of professional engagement and development in their industry. Therefore, keeping your certification in good standing will require an annual report to the International Trade Certification office that demonstrates you have completed 10 continuing education requirements for that calendar year. This requirement is in effect every 12 months for the life of the certification to remain in good standing.

You must complete 10 units (CEUs) annually towards each certification you maintain, or it will expire and become invalid.

General Guidelines for Continuing Education/CEUs Awarded

Note: All CEUs are based on contact hours for global trade relevant training.

Specific Examples:

  • A 1-hour webinar = 1 CEU
  • A 3-hour webinar for trade compliance = 3 CEUs
  • A 3 hour in-person training event = 3 CEUs
  • Attend full day in-person training for 8 hours excluding lunch/breaks = 6 CEUs

Important Steps to Completing Your Annual Report

1) Gather and scan all documentation that demonstrates completion of the continuing education training/events. 10 CEUs = 10 Contact Training Hours, see above for examples and calculations. After completing the CEU Application Form, you will receive an automated response with instructions to reply with your documentation attached as PDFs. You must pay the processing fee (below) the same day you submit your application.

If you are unable to submit your Annual Report and would like to request more time click here.

2) Please submit your complete annual report approximately 30 days before your certification expiration date to ensure ample processing time. One application per year is all that will be accepted, please do not attempt to submit your report until you have the full 10 CEUs required. If you have questions regarding what your anticipated training schedule will translate to for CEUs, please contact us via the Contact page. Your payment of $50.00 (paid below) must be paid at the same time as submission of your CEU Application for each certification you maintain. For example, you will need to pay $100 if you maintain two certifications ($50 each).

3) Pay the $50.00 Processing Fee:
