The International Compliance Professionals Association (ICPA) is a member association for trade compliance professionals across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Incorporated in 2002, ICPA is run by the people who do the work.
A network of people, a world of knowledge
ICPA began after the events of September 11, 2001, when Ann Lister and Lynda Thomas met in a coffee shop with nothing but a contact list and a conviction that compliance professionals needed each other more than they needed another vendor.
The association was incorporated on August 19, 2002, and held its first conference in San Diego in 2003. It has grown to more than 3,000 members and still runs on the same principle: practitioners teaching practitioners.
