Question: Does CTPAT allow warehouse and VMI 3PL’s to become members? ==================================================================== Answer: As of October 2008 yes!  See attached from the CBP website.As long as they have INTERNATIONAL business activities.  If they are only in the USA, with no foreign locations my answer would still be no. Question: We are a C-TPAT validated importer, but our internal fleet wants to become aC-TPAT or PIP validated carrier.  Can a carrier choose which program to join and then request mutualrecognition from the other program?  Any thoughts?If mutual recognition is not fully implemented in reality, how long youthink it will take for “real” mutual recognition?
