Question: My company is looking at importing LED recessed Light Bulbs from China. I have noticed that some CFL bulbs have FCC labeling. Does anyone know if LED Light bulbs require FCC labeling? Or can anyone give me some guidance on where to find the information?

8517.62.0050 has been a valid HTS since the tariff changes of February 4th, 2007. All of a sudden, this tariff number is flagging for FCC? Has anyone seen anything in writing from CBP or from the CST for this HTS about adding the requirement of an FCC740 for products imported under this HTS?
Here is a list of the HTS numbers that now have either a FCC may be required (FC3) or Is required (FC4) indication.
We have noticed that some of our brokers will ask us to fill out the FCC form 740 for commodities that are classified under FC3. My understanding is that FC3 is optional and FC4 is required. Are we required to fill out the FCC form 740 for FC3?
