Question: My company is considering transferring our order entry/customer service function to Mexico for the products now being assembled in Mexico. Has any other company had experience with this? If so, any suggestions or comments on proceeding with this would be appreciated. If not, is there a particular reason not to transfer this function?
Has anyone in the membership been asked to sign a “letter of responsibility” for containers crossing the border in Laredo? If so, what is it used for and what can be done to eliminate the letter from being signed for every shipment and delaying orders?
We ship FCC regulated products both to Mexico and Canada (and all over the world) and there is no equivalent requirement in any of the countries we ship to. As far as I know, the US is the only country requiring such a declaration upon importation.
