Question; We believe that importers and filers will need to keep copies of their Import Security Filing (“10+2”) for both Customs recordkeeping and audit/verification purposes. Are any importers receiving detailed records of the ISF filings (including all the data filed and the CBP ISF acceptance message) from their filers?

I’ve been asked to find out what other importers are doing with respect to 10+2 now that the Federal Register notice has been issued. Are the members having their freight forwarders or brokers entering data for the new 10+2 requirement? What are your reasons for selecting either the forwarder or broker?
With all the economic hardship facing corporations (and the nation in general) and the increased financial burden of 10+2 (from the forwarders using it as a cash cow) does anyone know of any attempt by any group or association to get the program postponed??

Has anyone heard anything regarding an “Alternate Method” for filing 10+2 data for Pharma and Medical companies already regulated by FDA. I thought I read a brief description somewhere but now cannot locate the resource.
Has anyone sent out an awareness letter, a commitment letter or a survey to your suppliers/vendors related to the Importer Security Filing (10+2)? If so, would you be willing to share it as a template for other ICPA members?
