This webinar discusses how to prepare public comments for the proposed rule to increase registration fees under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). On April 24, the U.S. Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls published a proposed rule to increase ITAR registration fees. The State Department is accepting public comments on its proposed fee increases until June 10.

Specifically, the webinar will discuss the history of the ITAR’s registration fees, the proposed rule, and effective strategies for preparing public comments.

A rarely presented topic, Christopher Stagg will share critical perspectives on the rulemaking process based on his deep experience writing export control regulations at the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, which included analyzing and responding to public comments, and his successful advocacy for regulatory revisions from the industry side.
