[Global Trade Academy (GTA) Course] Preparing Your Company’s Forced Labor Compliance Program | November 10, 2022

Date and Times:

November 10th | 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST

Description:

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) assumes that all goods originating from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) are produced using forced labor and prohibits their importation into the United States. Following suit, the European Commission proposed new legislation on September 14th that would effectively ban all products made using forced labor from their market. With more countries around the world starting to address forced labor in the supply chain, global trade professionals worldwide will continue to be challenged on how to manage their operations to ensure compliance.

This Global Trade Academy 1-day advanced course offers a clear understanding of forced labor and how it’s defined, in addition to providing strategies on how to build a forced labor compliance program that will mitigate risk to your company’s global trade operations. Seminar discussion and materials will provide a sample structure of a global mapping of a supply chain as well as tactics to track and trace your product as a raw material or downstream product made from forced labor input.

In Preparing Your Company’s Forced Labor Compliance Program you will:

Review forced labor legislation in the U.S. with comparisons to other countries

– Examine the European Union’s move to ban all products made with forced labor

– See how companies are meeting the requirements of the UFLPA for importing from China or through third countries

– Receive an overview of risk-based mapping and tracing strategies

– Discover how to overcome the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency’s rebuttable presumption
