Doing Business in the Middle East: What a U.S. Trade Practitioner Should Know

The major economies of the Middle East – including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar – have recently implemented policies and regulations that directly impact trade in these economies. This webinar will focus on what companies that trade globally must be aware of while trading with these economies. A brief outline of trade agreements will also be included. In addition, the webinar will also provide a brief overview of the UAE’s new export control regime, the first of its kind in the Middle East.
As a Senior Consultant, JC has been delivering Global Trade Management expertise in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and the Indian subcontinent over the past 15 years. His nearly 30 years of experience includes customs administration, free zone operations, procurement, imports and exports, inventory management, and consulting.
Consulting projects that JC has led include trade compliance assessments and audits, implementation of risk mitigation programs, supplier network evaluations, and distribution center design focusing on Aerospace and Defense, Automotive, and Retail sectors. JC has also trained and implemented compliance and customs administration teams in India and the Asia-Pacific region.
JC holds degrees in Engineering and an MBA from the University of Western Australia. He has been trained in the Export Administration Regulations of the U.S. and also completed training in Supply Chain Management at Georgia Tech’s Supply Chain and Logistics Institute and in Materials Management at the National Academy of Indian Railways.
