[Global Trade Academy (GTA) Course] Preparing Your Company’s Forced Labor Compliance Program | November 10, 2022

Date and Times:

November 10th | 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST

Description:

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) prohibits the importation of products made by forced labor into the USA, challenging US-based importers on how to manage their supply chains and ensure their products are compliant with these regulations. Whether you are importing directly from China or any other country, your product may have been made wholly or in part with components or raw materials that are made with forced labor that exclude importation into the US. If so, is your forced labor program strong enough to survive a customs investigation?

This advanced 1-day course will provide companies with a clear understanding of these requirements, with insights on how to build a program including an understanding of the requirements to overcome the rebuttal presumption. Seminar discussion and materials will provide clear examples of how to build a compliant program according to Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) due diligence program, with language to incorporate into codes of conduct and global contracts. Materials will include a sample structure of a global mapping of a supply chain, with a focus on meeting CBP’s importer guidelines for transparency in the supply chain.

Key highlights include:

– Forced labor legislation in the US with comparisons to other countries

– CBP enforcement and management of the ULFPA

– How companies are meeting the requirements of ULFPA for importing from China or through third countries

– Risk-based mapping and tracing strategies

– How to overcome CBP’s rebuttal presumption

– Remediation plans

Group pricing is available for this course.
