Duty Drawback for E-Commerce – How to Reclaim 25% of Your Product Cost

E-Commerce is booming. Retailers and wholesalers that never conceived of exporting are now shipping considerable volumes of product internationally. Many of these products have been imported or made from imported components and are eligible for Duty Drawback worth 99% of imported duties, taxes, and fees. The challenge for eB2C is how to capture that buried value.

If you are doing B2C internationally with sales in excess of $250,000 annually, it is conceivable that you are eligible for a sizeable Duty Drawback. If you are importing your raw materials, components, or finished products and subsequently exporting them you may be eligible for a sizeable Duty Drawback. Depending on your business and where you source your products from, the import duties, taxes and fees can amount to >25% of your product cost. Imagine if you reclaimed those duties, taxes, and fees.

What was previously unrecoverable is now possible to recover.
